Keeping Up-To-Date With The Industry

I recently had an experience on my Facebook feed regarding a member of the Arabian horse community publicly inquiring about a new policy recently changed that would affect how she could show her yearling filly. There’s no problem in what she did, but there was a problem with how the issue was being discussed. I read through the entire thread, and I sadly found that most people were uneducated about the issue being discussed. A few members were thoroughly informed through emails and research, but the majority had false information. There’s a plethora of ways to keep informed with the industry, and there’s something out there for everybody. This article is going to discuss just a few methods to keep up with current events.

Promoting Positive Change

One of the most active Facebook pages is a group titled, “Promoting Positive Change for the Arabian Breed”. While it’s a private group, members are quick to respond to active membership requests. This group discusses any and all issues brought to the breed, and it’s an open forum to express opinions. The page is described as a place where people can come with problems and find a solution, without the complaining found on similar pages. Positivity is key, and helpful members are abundant.

Arabian Horse Association Pages

The Arabian Horse Association has two major outlets to keep updated on information. Their website, www.arabianhorses.org, is their primary source of information. The site is a hub for a variety of services, including memberships and registrations, show information, marketing and sales, new policies, and youth activities. Their Facebook page encourages photo and video sharing, along with comments to focus on the breed. The page is meant mainly for news and information.

Arabian Horse Times

The Arabian Horse Times is a magazine own and ran by horse owners and lovers. While the majority of the magazine is used for equine promotions, there’s also a significant amount of articles aimed toward current events and news blasts. AHT is an international publication, so it’s a great place to find news from all around the world that may not be on more conventional news outlets such as Facebook pages or websites.

These three options are just a few outlets that allow for current events and news stories. There are plenty more out there that don’t require a lot of looking to uncover. I highly suggest using these methods to stay up to par on the Arabian horse industry.
